In this project, we collaborated with Galvazinc, an Asturian industrial galvanizing company, providing our expertise in structural engineering to ensure the highest quality and safety of their tooling.

They requested the structural calculation of three types of tooling designed and manufactured in-house, with the goal of certifying their performance and ensuring compliance with safety standards for both their workers and processes, as well as their customers’ products.

To ensure that the design met all strength and safety requirements, we began with a thorough analysis of the loading conditions. This process included the creation of global models for an overview, as well as local submodels to examine critical areas in detail, allowing us to identify potential areas for improvement and optimization.

The result of this process has allowed the tooling to be certified, ensuring more efficient and safer operations in the industrial galvanizing environment.

The bivalve grab, also known as the Matas Grab, is used to remove accumulated waste from the bottom of galvanizing vats. This grab is connected to the overhead crane and opened and closed by a remote control.

This type of hanger is used to facilitate the galvanizing of several pieces at the same time by hanging them in a distributed manner from the side arms as shown in the image.

It’s a support piece for the hanger.

During the loading process, the ends of the hanger are placed on the support piece.
